Perishables & Temperature Sensitive

Uganda Airlines offers two other specialized airport-to-airport services tailored for the transportation of perishable goods, including fresh fruits, flowers, vegetables, fish, meat, dairy products, and temperature-sensitive items such as temperature controlled pharmaceuticals and other health care products.

We prioritize the efficient and reliable transport of perishable products, ensuring that freshness is maintained and the cool-chain remains intact. Additionally, we guarantee the safe handling of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products, adhering to IATA CEIV, GDP, and WHO guidelines.

  • Cool chain handling for 3 Temperature levels: Freezer -20, Cool 2-8, and Ambient 15-25.
  • Active container handling: Recharging, battery change, and re-icing.
  • Notification to Captain (NOTOC): To ensure inflight conditioning.

  • Priority handling: Time and Temperature sensitive pharma is given priority during offloading and is loaded last (LIFO), ensuring quick turnaround for pharma shipments.

For Temperature Sensitive Items

Booking: Should be made at least 48 hours before flight departure.

Perishable cargo: Perishable cargo must be handled by an export agent. Choosing a reputable forwarding agent for your perishable goods is crucial. A qualified agent can negotiate the best rates with the airline, provide a detailed quotation, and offer expert advice on export formalities, documentation, and other shipment requirements. The agent will secure booking confirmation, guide you through customs, manage all departure formalities, and ensure your cargo is presented to our Ground Handling Agent (GHA) for acceptance.
