Important Information

  • Containers must be resistant to freight damage.
  • The container design must prevent animals from escaping through any gaps.
  • Adequate ventilation is required on at least three sides, with most airflow from the upper section.
  • Scientific and common names of the animal(s) must be included as per the shipper’s certificate.
  • Indicate the number of animals inside the container.
  • Provide instructions for feeding and watering if necessary.

Necessary Documentation

  • Attach the shipper’s certificate
  • Import and export permits.
  • Health and vaccination certificates
  • CITES Permit if the species is protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.
  • Quarantine Certificates where applicable, confirming compliance with quarantine laws.

Restrictions

  • Ensure compliance with breed restrictions for each destination country.
  • The aircraft cargo hold door size limits the maximum container size that can be accepted.
  • Pets are not accepted in the cabin except for guide dogs; all other pets must be transported as cargo.
